With the increase in COVID-19 cases, it is important to follow guidelines to stay healthy and avoid spreading the virus. One way to do that is to wash your hands with soap and water to reduce the amount of germs on your hands. If you cannot wash with soap and water, then use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Alcohol may be listed on the label as ethanol, ethyl alcohol, isopropanol, or 2-propanol. When buying hand sanitizer, avoid the list of products that have not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It is important to rub the gel over all the surfaces of your hands and fingers until your hands are completely dry. Rinsing or wiping off hand sanitizer before it is dry will not protect you against germs. For safety purposes, keep hand sanitizer out of your eyes and store it out of reach of young children and pets.
