Many are doubting recently published medical research that was reported in the media. On May 22nd, the medical journal, Lancet, published a study suggesting that the medicines chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine could cause serious side effects if used to treat COVID-19. The results caused researchers around the world to stop their research into the same medicines for the virus. Meanwhile, another study published in the New England Journal of Medicine suggested that some medicines used for blood pressure were safe if people with COVID-19 continued to take them. People are questioning both studies and the researchers involved are under investigation as to whether the published articles should be removed because they are inaccurate. There have also been suggestions of fraud.
