Places in the United States that do not follow any social distancing policies have 35 times more cases of COVID-19. This means that places with no social distancing orders are at a higher risk for COVID-19 infection. Social distancing helped keep more people healthy. This study found that the longer a social distance plan was in place, the slower the daily growth rate of COVID-19. Most of the country (95%) created social distancing rules for their communities. This included shelter-in-place and the closing of schools, restaurants, bars, and gyms. Now, states are beginning to open up again, and some people are worried about the spread of COVID-19 as a result of less social distancing.
