The U.S. Department of Justice announced on April 22, 2020 that it has intervened to disrupt hundreds of COVID-19 scams, including fraudulent websites seeking donations to the American Red Cross or soliciting personal information as well as websites for legitimate companies that were used to distribute malware. As always, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Scammers are very active as COVID-19 offers them new opportunities.
