Despite making up nearly half (48%) of Santa Barbara County’s population, almost two-thirds of the COVID-19 cases in the county involve Hispanic/Latino residents, according to Santa Barbara County Public Health Department. Over the past few weeks, county public health officials interviewed or contacted 307 people who have been infected with the virus. 61%were Hispanic/Latino and 31% white.
