Two of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies will collaborate to develop a vaccine against COVID-19. Sanofi is already a global leader in vaccine development especially against the common influenza virus. The other company, GSK, will help ensure that as much vaccine as possible can be produced to protect more people. The companies plan to initiate clinical trials in the second half of 2020 and, if successful, make the vaccine available by the second half of 2021.
